A not-for-profit organisation empowering healthcare providers to deliver quality health services, achieving improved health outcomes

CHL is a not-for-profit organisation that actively develops partnerships with commissioners and other healthcare providers to seek out new opportunities for providers to meet the needs of our population.  We empower our providers to maximise the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services which are sustainable for the future.

Whether you need support for widescale change/review of commissioned services, short-term ad hoc activities such as EOI, or managing back-office services such as contracting and payment administration, CHL can design and deliver efficient and effective, innovative, and quality solutions for commissioners.

We understand the NHS, the complex commissioning landscape for commissioners and providers; and the health challenges and inequalities in Greater Manchester and have proven the significant and positive impact that our support has derived for our existing partners. See testimonials.

CHL was established in 2016 by Bolton LPC and GMLPC, who represent all community pharmacy contractors in Greater Manchester. The LPCs merged in 2023 and are now known as Community Pharmacy Greater Manchester (CPGM).

CPGM takes an active role in CHL’s business through a Scrutiny Committee, and relationships between the organisations are strong, with collaborative working throughout GM community pharmacy forums including:

  • Community Pharmacy Provider Board
  • Primary Care Board
  • Integrating NHS Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation (IPMO) workstreams
  • GM Local Professional Network for pharmacy (LPN)
