Launch of Academy Online
On the 16th March, GMHA launch ‘Academy Online’. The web-based platform, developed in collaboration with Communications International Group Ltd (CIG), will offer pharmacists and pharmacy staff across Greater Manchester free high-quality training on numerous topics. Such topics range from clinical e.g. the identification of atrial fibrillation, through to management and leadership. There will also be very current training related to the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework and changes to the Pharmacy Quality Scheme. As new training is added, the platform will grow into a repository that you and your teams can use to refresh/update your knowledge and skills. As pharmacy practice and healthcare continue to develop, we aim to deliver training responsive to those changes to maximise your service offering and care provision.
As well as host training, the platform provides an up-to-date calendar of education events over the coming 12 months e.g. face-to-face events and webinars. This should enable you and/or your staff to plan attendance in advance. Sponsored by industry and with guest expert speakers, one upcoming event will focus on cardiovascular disease including how community pharmacy can support patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes following discharge from hospital.
